New build – Semi-Detached Houses, 74b Trafalgar Street, Annandale
4 bedrooms | 3.5 bathrooms
If places could talk, this one would have a few tales to tell. During World War II the site was a factory making supplies. Later it became the site of the Annandale recording studios where Cold Chisel, Paul Kelly, Midnight Oil and countless others made musical history — including The Wiggles, who recorded their album Go to Sleep Jeff — Sleepy Time Songs for Children here.
Today, it’s a semi-detached house by award winning architects and featuring reverse concrete stairs and the high-end inclusions that are the Kingston Homes signature. In this stunning home those include a Gaggenau kitchen that includes double ovens, a steamer oven, double warmer draws, a modularised cooktop; and a Zip HydroTap.
Challenges with the build
Challenges to be overcome with this build included:
- The high level of detail involved in the fittings and finishes
- Co-ordinating services around the long lead time in ordering high-end appliances
- Building special bridging platforms over the neighbours’ roofs in order to render and paint
We could not have completed this job without building excellent relationships with the neighbours.
